Base jumper injured in Canyonlands


A 46-year-old man broke his leg and was stranded 350 feet above a canyon floor after attempting to be free like a bird. The man was base jumping from Updraft Arch in Canyonlands National Park. He still needs to learn how to spread his wings to fly.

There was a problem with his parachute and the man broke his ankle after slamming into a rock at speeds estimated around 30 mph.

Due to the terrain the man crashed on, a helicopter was brought into pluck them man from the cliff.
