A 12-year-old boy from Pennsylvania took a ride when a bison flipped the boy 10 feet into the air as he posed for pictures with his family.
The family was posing for pictures one to two feet away from the bison amid warnings from other visitors in the area. The bison was either annoyed or threatened by the family and gave him a piece of his horn. Yay bison. Boo family for not respecting his space.
The boy only had minor cuts and bruises on his body, but he was airlifted to a local hospital after complaining about abdominal pain.
This is the first bison vs. human incident in Yellowstone this year. Park regulations require a minimum distance of 100 yards be maintained from bears and wolves, and 25 years from all other animals.
The metric system had no bearing on the family’s proximity to the animal. They are just numbskulls.
