A 75-year-old hiker was found lying unconscious near Lakeland River in England. She had head injuries and possible spinal injuries from a fall.
Two hikers found her motionless body while they were hiking on the trail. At first, they thought it was debris that just washed down stream, but soon realized that it was a human.
Rescuers and an air ambulance helped treat the woman. When she woke up, she was confused and didn’t remember how she ended up near the river.
The trail isn’t rugged or extremely narrow. Authorities suspect that she may have stopped to take a break or enjoy the view and somehow slipped off the side of a cliff.
An air ambulance took her to a local hospital where she received treatment. Her current condition is unknown.
