Ten campers were stranded on Askom Mountain in British Columbia when heavy rain and thick clouds disoriented the campers’ chaperone who decided to spend a cold night on the mountain.
The 40-year-old chaperone, a 7-year-old girl and 8 teenagers were part of a larger group from a local Christian private school. For some reason the group separated into two, (probably into a fast group and slow group). On the way down the mountain, heavy rain made the chaperone lose his way and he decided to build a fire and hunker down for the night.
The group was geared up with tents, clothes and food. When the group didn’t return that night, Mounties were sent in to find them. They were found at 1 p.m. the next day.
Their condition is unknown, but it sounds like everyone is OK.
