Two hikers were forced to spend the night in the wilderness when darkness fell while they were 8 miles deep in the wilderness.
Brandon Borba, 25, and Branden Hulse, 23, were out for a dayhike. They had no food, water, jackets or equipment for an overnight stay. When darkness fell, they were forced to hunker down for the night.
Although the duo had a GPS and cell phone, there was no service in the area and unable to notify searchers of their location. They were able to build a fire and drink water from the stream to survive overnight.
When they didn’t return that night, family members notified authorities and a search began. Their car was found 5 miles up a forest road near Applegate Lake.
At daybreak, the pair was found walking out of the wilderness to the car. No reports on the condition they were found in.
