About

Over four years ago, I read “Touching the Void” and I was always intrigued by situation hikers find themselves in and the incredible things they do to stay alive.

This blog is about learning from other people’s mistakes, so you don’t make the same ones.

“Better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat”

Missing Hiker Found Dead after Two-Year Search

The body of a 41-year-old Idaho man who went missing July 24, 2006 was found last week by a hunter.

Robert Noble failed to return from a hike near Lake Como (pictured above) two years ago. On Oct. 19, a hunter who saw a backpack and camera gear five miles west of the lake found the body.

It appears that Noble died in a fall since the body was found on a slope in a rocky area. The original search and rescue operation lasted two weeks before it was called off.
