Her mistake: Should’ve went with the Vibram soles. She slipped on a rock
What happened: A woman hiking with a group slipped on some rocks and broke her leg. Someone in the group alerted authorities and the Mountain Club of South America rescue group responded to the scene.
The woman was hauled out, treated at a local facility, then sent to a hospital where they found she had a hairline fracture in her tibia.
This accident comes weeks after another British hiker fell to his death on the peninsula. Tony Staplehurts, 76, was taking video and talking when he walked off the trail and plunged 20 meters to his death.
