Her mistake: She got lost and didn’t hunker down
What happened: A woman who was hiking with a group got separated and lost in the swamp. She was last seen at 5 p.m., but her friends didn’t report her missing until 7:30 p.m.
While the woman was lost, she saw a light and started hiking towards it. Then she got stuck in the swamp and unable to get out.
Search teams located the missing hiker at 3 a.m. She was cold and wet, but otherwise in good condition.
