8 Hikers Rescued in Hot Weather

Where: The hills above Brand Park, Glendale, California
Their mistake: Either they weren’t fit enough or didn’t bring enough water or a combination of both
What happened: A group of eight hikers were trekking through the hills above Glendale. This is a hill in the middle of a metropolis. Pictured above is the view from the hill. During their hike, members of the group became dehydrated and exhausted.

They called for help at 3:12 p.m. and firefighters were sent to the scene. Two of the hikers were succumbing to severe dehydration and exhaustion and were airlifted off the hill to a nearby hospital. It is unclear what happened to the other six.
