Who: Four Hungarians
Where: Sichuan Province, China, the same province as the missing Russians
Their mistake: It’s unknown
What happened: Four Hungarians started an extended backpacking trip through the Sichuan Province about one week ago. Their plan was to climb a mountain with no official name. Locals call it Renzhonghai, a mountain with a 6,079-meter peak.
The mountain has never been summited. Japanese and Korean climbers attempted to climb it, but failed to make the summit. Chinese officials lost contact with the group before their scheduled return date at the end of October. Authorities foresee hurdles to find the climbers since the region hasn’t been explored and little is known abut the area.
