Who: A 36-year-old woman
Where: Obelisk Mountain, southeast of Wishon Reservoir
Her mistake: It’s unknown. Not much is reported.
What happened: A 36-year-old woman and two friends went rock climbing on Obelisk Mountain, somewhere under the summit. During their trip, the woman fell an unknown distance and was severely injured. One of the other climbers stayed with the woman while the other went for help. The Sheriffs got word of the incident before 8 p.m. and a rescue team was sent out. A chopper was also sent out, but because of the rugged terrain, it was unable to drop off rescuers.
Unfortunately, the rescue team was unable to reach the victim until 11 a.m. and the rock climber succumbed to her injuries.
