Who: Two students, not much more is known
Where: Grooved Arete, Snowdonia, UK
Their mistake: Looks like they bit off more than they can chew
What happened: Two climbers were ascending the Grooved Arete route on Snowdonia in the UK. For some reason, the climbers became stuck on the route. It is unclear if they had no gear, or if the climb was just too tough for them.
They were able to call for help and authorities sent a Sea King helicopter to rescue them. Because of high winds, low visibility and clouds, the chopper had to wait for the perfect time to rescue the duo. When the time came, authorities decided to lift both men and the winchmen off the mountain all at the same time. Apparently hauling three people at one time is very rare. All three were brought safely into the chopper. It is unclear if the climbers suffered any injuries.
