What happened: The 27-year-old-climber and a partner were descending from the Hirscchkarlgrat towards the Grieskogel and decided to take a shorter route down a snow covered ravine. When they were 400 meters down the ravine, they ran into frozen snow causing the climber to slip and fall 150 meters down the ravine. A rescue helicopter recovered the fallen climber from the ravine and he was pronounced dead by air rescue doctor.
